The School of Education offers several programs for teacher education candidates to engage in travel and service learning activities abroad. Through our International Professional Development Schools (IPDS) and other educator initiatives, participants have the opportunity to globalize their understanding and experience of education, including the education of language learners, through study about, and travel to, an international destination. Teacher candidates interact with members of a partner university and/or school site to learn about education in the target country, and participate in service learning projects, conduct comparative research projects, and reflect through an online blog to document their learning.
The IPDS currently supports teach and study away activities in Chile, China, Dominican Republic, Germany, Honduras, Italy, Zambia and Rwanda (partnership with Anne Frank Project). Email the School of Education at firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
